a councilmember To do this.
a councilmember Can you tell me in plain language why this benefits the city and what happens if we don't approve this?
city staff So the benefits of the city is to have an existing property that has been fully developed and occupied by individuals with the highest of needs that our partners of the county have substantially funded, that we are able to, through approval of this conversion of the funding request, stabilize the asset in the long term, and utilize the generosity of destination home to ensure that the property continues to operate through its fifteen year compliance period.
city staff That is the benefit to the city.
city staff In the event we do not provide this funding, the property will be in a negative cash flow status by probably beginning of next year, 2027, and will struggle to operate itself, likely resulting in a zombie building, whereby it's cash flow negative.
